Welcome to Saint James Episcopal Church, Charleston, SC

Nestled alongside the tidal creeks of James Island, Saint James has been a place of Christian community and worship for more than three centuries. We are a Christ-centered parish in the Episcopal Church, rooted in Holy Scripture and shaped by the Book of Common Prayer. We are a welcoming congregation for all people as we seek to follow the Way of a loving, liberating, life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Installing Our Rector

    June 14th @ 7 PM with the Rt. Rev. Ruth Woodliff-Stanley. Come join us for a celebration of new ministry as Rev. Will is officially installed as the next rector of St. James! Clergy are invited to attend and vest in cassock and surplice with a red stole. Reception with dessert to follow.

  • Acolyte Training

    Sunday July 19th after the 10 AM service. If you’re interested in serving as an acolyte or need a refresher, come join us after service on the 19th! Grab a quick snack at coffee hour and then come meet us in the sanctuary.

    Join us for St. James day July 26th @ 10 PM! There will only be one service this Sunday in the St. James Center and we’ll have a low country boil after to celebrate our patron saint. All are welcome!

    • Join us every Wednesday at 11:30 for mid week Eucharist.
