Alex Pratt, Vestry Member

Alex may be one of Saint James Episcopal Church’s newer members, having joined just two years ago, but his commitment to the church runs deep. A Clemson University graduate and professional land surveyor, Alexander was initially drawn to Saint James by something quite unique - watching fish swim behind the waterfront chapel during a visit.

What keeps Alex engaged is the church's culture of curiosity and support, where "no one is afraid to ask important questions and everyone is always willing to answer or help find the answer." As Head of the Graveyard Committee, Alex is working to establish a functioning cemetery section that will be easily accessible to church members.

When he's not surveying land or serving on the vestry, Alexander enjoys fishing, hunting, surfing, and mowing grass. He's also passionate about the church's hymnal tradition and finds strength in 2nd Corinthians 4:16 during challenging times.

Fun fact: both of his siblings serve in the military! Alex's vision for Saint James is simple but powerful - he's seen the pews full before and is excited to make that happen every Sunday, believing the church can serve as a spiritual outlet for those in need and those who are searching.
