Kalb, Choir Member
Kalb brings youthful energy and serious musical talent to Saint James Episcopal Church as a bass in the choir. Originally from Summerville, this College of Charleston student found his way to Saint James through music director David Friddle and has been enriching the bass section for one season.
As a C of C student, Kalb comes with solid musical credentials. He's been singing in choirs since middle school and plays piano, violin, and timpani. This diverse instrumental background gives him a well-rounded foundation that really enhances his choral work.
Kalb loves performing SATB choral arrangements, and what draws him most to the Saint James choir is "the atmosphere of the congregation." His musical tastes are wonderfully eclectic, spanning from Mozart's Requiem K.626 to Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, and even jazz standards like "Misty."
When he's not making music at church or studying at college, you'll find Kalb listening to music from the 60s-80s—he's got a real appreciation for those classic sounds that shaped popular music.
With his musical background, dedication, and love for the church's welcoming spirit, Kalb represents the next generation of musicians helping create beautiful worship at Saint James Episcopal Church.
