Kelsey Costa, Choir Member
Kelsey Costa brings fresh talent and enthusiasm to Saint James Episcopal Church as a new alto in the choir. A Charleston native, Kelsey discovered the choir through word of mouth and is excited to begin this new musical journey.
Kelsey comes with impressive formal training, having attended Charleston County School of the Arts as a vocal major throughout middle and high school (2008-2015). She also took voice lessons during her senior year and sang as an alto 2 in Clemson University's choir CU Singers during her first three semesters of college (2015-2016).
Though she hasn't performed with the Saint James choir yet, Kelsey is eager to get started. Her favorite hymn is "How Great Thou Art," and her favorite song is "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon, showing her appreciation for both sacred and contemporary music.
When she's not preparing to sing with the choir, Kelsey works as a night shift nurse on the General Adult Unit at MUSC's Institute of Psychiatry, where she cares for patients with compassion and dedication. At home, she's devoted to her 3-year-old cat named Clove, whom she loves dearly. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys working crossword puzzles and walking the Ravenel Bridge—perfect Charleston pastimes that help her unwind.
With her strong musical background, caring nature as a healthcare professional, and love for her city, Kelsey is a wonderful addition to the Saint James Episcopal Church choir family.
