Roy Fuller, Church Choir and Vestry Member

Roy Fuller brings artistic flair and deep faith to Saint James Episcopal Church as both a tenor in the choir and vestry member. Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Roy discovered Saint James through music director David Friddle and has been enriching the musical ministry since January 2023.

As an interior designer specializing in residential, historic, and commercial design with a background in theatrical work, Roy brings a creative eye to church leadership. With musical training in piano, trombone, and voice, Roy brings solid experience to his tenor role and loves traditional choir music, especially the "beautiful and challenging anthems" David selects. For Roy, being in the choir means joining "a collective of like-minded singers."

Roy's faith is grounded in Psalms 62:1-2: "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him." He believes the Holy Spirit led him to vestry service, where he uses his talents to help Saint James grow. What he loves most about the community is that it's "a loving and caring community that fosters goodwill to all."

Roy shares life with his partner, Mark Morris, and enjoys everything from cooking and gardening to redoing old houses, traveling, and entertaining. He appreciates "the arts, nature, good food, good friends, and the bounties God has given us."

Here's a fun fact: Roy is literally "full of electricity." Years ago, he blew out both headlights on his car when spooked leaving his grandmother's farm. After getting a pacemaker, his doctor said his heart was fine—he just had an electrical problem. Roy's response? "I wasn't surprised!"

With his artistic talents, musical gifts, and servant's heart, Roy embodies the creative spirit and generous love that make Saint James Episcopal Church a welcoming home for all.
