Stephanie Masline, Church Choir
Stephanie Masline, originally from Rochester, NY, joined the Saint James Episcopal Church choir in August 2023 as a soprano. Her musical journey began in elementary school and flourished through voice lessons, performances with various choirs, and musical theater productions. A highlight of her singing career was performing Carmina Burana at Lincoln Center with the Ithaca College chorus.
Now pursuing a master's in public health at MUSC, Stephanie has called Charleston home since 2016. She lives on James Island with her 15-year-old cat, Sherlock.
Stephanie particularly enjoys performing Christmas carols with the choir, appreciating the connection it creates with the congregation. A memorable experience was singing with the combined choir at the 2023 Diocesan Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina.
Though new to the Episcopal tradition, Stephanie has grown to love the service rituals and the central role of music in worship. She finds singing in the choir healing and uplifting, valuing it as part of her weekly routine.
When not singing or studying, Stephanie enjoys performing improv comedy, crocheting, and spending time outdoors.
